  1. 01

    Subtraction before addition

    Every dependency is a liability somebody inherits. We ship the smallest system that solves the problem completely — no framework we cannot defend, no abstraction that has not already paid for itself. What we leave out is the most expensive decision on the project.

    The record is the credential

    Anyone can show you the work that went well. We keep the whole arc — what we estimated, what it actually cost, where we were wrong and what it changed. A portfolio with the failures edited out is advertising.

    Design is an argument, not a surface

    An interface decides how work happens, who it trusts, and what it does at 3am when something breaks. We resolve that reasoning first. Typography and motion come last — and only once they have something true to carry.

    You own it, entirely

    Source, infrastructure, credentials, and the reasoning behind every decision we made on your behalf. No retainer you cannot leave, no black box, no access request. Handover means you could replace us tomorrow.

A small studio,
on purpose.

Prometheus Zero is a design and engineering studio. We take a small number of builds at a time, because the alternative — more clients, thinner attention — produces exactly the kind of software everybody already has too much of.

Most of what we know we learned running our own systems in production, with real money and real risk attached. Client work stays private — so the products we build for ourselves are the part we can put on the record. Judge us on those.

We work quietly, we write down what we learn, and we finish. When an engagement ends you hold the source, the infrastructure, the credentials and the reasoning behind every decision we made on your behalf.
